Excitement Revealed!

What a weekend!  The excitement still hasn't left my body and now I have to hang out until next Saturday for it to happen all over again.  Yes, I know it isn't that exciting for some of you but this event has had me gripped for a good month or so.  Of course, I'm talking about the premiere of episode one, series eight of DOCTOR WHO!  With a new face and a new set of adventures, Doctor Who returns fiercely with episode one showing a much darker side to the doctor than we've seen in quite some time.

Seoul, Sydney, New York, Mexico City, Rio De Janeiro, Cardiff, London!

In order to make the most of the event the day had to planned out perfectly.  My friends, Emily and Stacey, were just as excited as me (thank gosh I have nerdy friends that allow me to be a nerd around them!) and they planned an afternoon watching the last Christmas special where Matt Smith regenerated into Peter Capaldi.  While watching this last episode we ate the eleventh doctors'  favourite food (apart from fish fingers and custard that is), Jammie Dodgers.  We then headed on into Soho to grab a bite to eat from the lovely Pizza Pilgrims, which is a Pizzeria where one of my housemates (Anna) works.  She mentioned that I simply had to eat the pizza in order to understand how wonderful it is!  It was truly delicious!  We tasted the Margarita, Carbonara and the Aubergine pizza's with a surprise ricotta and nutella pizza round for dessert (THANKS ANNA!).

After stuffing ourselves silly we headed on over to Leicester Square to check out how busy the area had become from all of the Doctor Who fanatics.  It seemed as though the area wasn't too busy and most of the attendees had already gone inside.  So after a quick visit to the TARDIS and a stray dalek, we hurried on into the theatre where our free popcorn and water awaited us.

At the event itself,  the atmosphere was roaring with excitement not only for the premiere but for the various celebrities in attendance.  Just to name a few, there was the doctor himself, Peter Capaldi, the doctor's companion, Jenna Coleman, one of the most infamous writers I know, Stephen Moffat, and a few other Doctor Who celebrities as well as some Game of Throne celebrities and there as well. Along with celebrities, certain characters attended the premiere too...

A Cyberman staring blankly at me.. ARGH!

Even Matt and David attended the premier... I mean, look at that eyebrow raise on
David's face - wonderful!  Check out their youtube channel HERE!

Once episode one had finished on screen, the audience was lucky enough to witness a Q and A with Peter, Jenna and Stephen.  Although they weren't able to tell us too much about what we can except in this series of Doctor Who, their perspectives on their own characters were simply delightful to listen to.  Now, like a nerd, I shall wait for next Saturday night to enjoy episode two of series eight.  Who of my readers will be watching alongside me?  Let me know what you think of the new Doctor Who -- I would absolutely love to hear from you!
