However, the journey has now come to and end or at least a slight pause/break. I have officially returned back to the land of sunshine, still with the same London pace but possibly a different outlook on life. On my travels back to Aus I thought deeply about my past 14 or so months and it truly overwhelmed me. I've come to know a beautiful bunch of people all over the world, all extremely different yet so friendly. I've also come to realise a lot of other things but at the same time I have more and more questions about myself and the world! I can't quite grasp the fact that I'm back in Australia - in fact sometimes I wish I was back in London while other times I wish I was in Iceland or Sydney or even Rotterdam but I am back home now, ready to begin a new chapter in my life.
Before I get ready to begin this new chapter though, I thought I would answer a few questions that I've been asked numerous times since returning to Australia.
What was your favourite experience while being overseas? That answer is difficult since I visited so many places while I was overseas, however I think I've narrowed it down to a few. The few experiences include that one particular time where a man was genuinely nice to me on the tube (a rare experience in London), when I went to see Lykke Li by myself (such a beautiful concert) and just general exploring days where I did nothing but explore the city.
What was your favourite country that you visited? Without a doubt, Iceland. It is most definitely one of the most beautiful countries I have ever visited (alongside New Zealand). I urge any of my fellow travel fanatics to go and see this beautiful country if you haven't already!
What was your favourite meal out of every place you went to? Definitely the the Dolsot bowl from a very cute Korean restaurant named Bibimbap in Soho, London.
Favourite theatre show in west end? The Book of Mormon -- 1000% the best play I've ever seen!
Are you glad to be home? Yes and no. I'm happy to be home and with my family and friends again but I miss the people I became close with in London. I miss my housemates, I miss my travelling friends, I miss my foreign friends and I miss a few work colleagues too. I also miss lots of cool places in London, but I'm sure I'll find some equally cool places here in Brisbane. On my return to Australia I arrived not in my home town but instead in Melbourne. In Melbourne I caught up with an old friend (Beanie) who put me up for a few days (thank you for helping me with my jet lag Beanie). From there I travelled upwards through Albury and on towards Sydney. Finally from Sydney I flew back to Brizvegas where I surprised my family with my arrival (lots of tears)! So here are a few photos from my travels in Aus.
Before I finish my last post as Trixy In London, I want to say a huge thank you to everyone that has been reading/looking at my blog posts for over a year now. I really do appreciate all of the Facebook likes, retweets, reblogs and blog post comments - you've all been so amazing! For those of you wondering what's next for me, stay tuned because I'll be reinventing this blog into something a little bit different (I'll be keeping all of these past posts in case you want to have a gander at my old photographs). So... Watch this Space!
