An Icelandic Adventure

A few hours ago I returned, exhausted, from a spectacular visit to Iceland.  Although tired and run-down I can't help but reminisce (I know... already!) about my adventure out to this beautiful country.  With sights of both the moon and the sun at the same time, snow tipped mountain tops and breathtaking views it isn't hard to imagine that this country is indeed one of my favourites so far.  Even without seeing the Northern Lights (the weather was too cloudy on the days where I had the opportunity to go), it really is a stunning little country.

I don't really want to bore myself by typing down a load of words so I'll just briefly tell you all what I got up to and then attach a bunch of photographs.  First up, I visited an Icelandic friend of mine who was so helpful in navigating her own country for me and she was also a great companion to have along the whole journey (thank you Elín!).  Secondly, I hired out a car (probably one of the best ways to see Iceland) and drove a good 10 hours around the West/North side of Iceland.  I visited Reykjavik, Akranes, Akureyi, Mývatn and a few other small places.  Thirdly, I experienced a proper Icelandic Christmas dinner along with multiple other Icelandic cuisines (thank you so much Elín's family) and I also got to experience the natural hot springs of Iceland!  Did I mention the views by the way... oh I did?  Well I'm mentioning them again because I was seriously in awe of them!!

Anyway here are just a few of the many photos I took during my visit to Iceland...
