Imagine a whole city of churches, valleys, hills and numerous villages. Now imagine that same city with a beautiful dusting of snow on top. You're imaging Luxembourg. Well, you could be imaging many other cities but I'm just going to tell you about my recent visit to Luxembourg. Before deciding on heading to Luxembourg, I had numerous people advise me that it wasn't so wonderful and that there really wasn't much to do there. The latter half of that was true, however the city itself was absolutely stunning (mainly due to the snow that decided to appear overnight). As an Australian, or in particular an Australian that lives in a very humid and tropical part of the country, snow is another world for me. It's like seeing a sunrise for the first time, beautiful and enthralling all in the one moment. Unlike a sunrise though, snow stays for a while and although the novelty may wear off for most people it definitely never has for me. On my visit in Luxembourg however I did find that there are both positives and negatives to snow.

The positives:
- The fact that everything looks absolutely stunning the morning after a big snowfall.
- Even better than the fact above, the snow literally glitters when the sun shines down on it
- Your drink bottle is naturally cooled so if you're outside hiking about then it's the most perfect thing ever!
- Snow sculpturing and snow ball fights are definitely a beautiful bit of a fun.
- Lastly the best positive about snow is that it actually has a load of benefits for the environment.

The negatives:
- If you're hiking around like I was, after you return back to a warmer climate (aka inside a warm building) make sure you empty your bag of all liquids as they will condensate and make your bags damp!
- Just like puddles of water, snow can be so very deceiving to the eye. Because of this, you'll need to make sure you stick to where you know the paths are or at least step in some previously trodden snow otherwise you could end up in knee deep snow (or shin deep, just like I did in Luxembourg).
- Last but not least snow can be extremely dangerous due to it melting and then hardening into ice. So make sure you really watch where you're walking otherwise you could end up on your backside which I almost did.

With the positives and negatives aside, snow is still a beautiful sight for a Queenslander to view. During my trek and findings of the snow however I did do a few other sight seeing activities including checking out some extremely old buildings (The Bock), a museum (MUDAM) and a few old churches (including the Notre Dame Church). With all of this observing it's obvious that Luxembourg, just like Bruges, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With its spectacular views and easy to walk around city centre, it is absolutely a perfect city to visit for a day. I would recommend it to any of my friends but once again I would reiterate it really only needs to be visited for a day only! Here are a bunch of more photos for you all to check out as well. Make sure you leave a comment or share it via social media if you love it!
