A European Christmas

Between the hula dancing at my Christmas work party and the risotto eating at my Crickelwood family Christmas dinner, I feel I may have neglected my blog over the past few weeks.  Due to these aforementioned Christmas-themed events my camera has been receiving an almighty workout... or should I say my camera phone.  Yes, unfortunately I didn't get too snap happy (with my decent camera) at all of the Christmas parties, dinners, outings and so forth and for this I'm slightly disappointed in myself.  However, I am fairly new at this photography journey and I want to bring along a motto with me.  A motto that shares experiences with photography, a motto that allows the buffer time or the time where one is not holding their camera in front of their face.  What I mean is, I believe that technology is slowly becoming a need rather than a want and therefore I set day or time limits on the amount of time I am holding my camera for.  OCD you might think?  My best friend would probably respond with "Absolutely,"  however it is only a way for me to keep photography as my personal passion rather than it becoming a chore of sorts.

Now that I've somewhat (by somewhat I mean barely) caught you up on the past few weeks I thought I might let you know what's happening right this very minute.  After my evening of eating a truck full of food and then drinking Prosecco, Buck's Fizz and Apple Pie Martinis I slept all of around 4 hours last night. Once the clock struck six in the morning, I was up and walking with my 50L backpack off to St Pancras International.  There I jumped aboard the Eurostar in order to make my way to a cosy, historical place named Bruges (pronounced Brugge in French).  To my delight I had a whole two seats to myself.  At this point I relished in the memories of travelling throughout Europe three years ago with my family.  We would always hope and wish for more seats than what we actually had (spare seats of course).  Once I arrived in Bruges, still beaming about the fact that I had two seats the entire way there, I walked over to my hotel which was definitely not as far from the station as I thought it would be.

Apologies to all of my readers, but I'm going to pause my journey details there so far as I have a feeling I will have multiple new photos by the end of my stay here in Bruges.  So you'll have to wait until then to hear all about what I got up to!  As for now, I'll leave you with a magical little photo of Bruges at night time.

It's my first time shooting with a wide angle - be nice! :)
